Other Activities of the Centre during 2019-20

Dr. Dilip Kumar, Joint Director presented a paper entitled Fertility trend and the Impact of Family Planning in Bihar State in the International Seminar On Maternal & Child Health In Empowered Action Group states: Sustainable Development Goals Perspective at A.N Sinha Inst. of Social Sciences, Patna during 5-6th April 2019. -participated in the 3rd Party review committee meetings of PRCs organised by the MoHFW, GOI in New Delhi on 6th May 2019. -participated in the New HMIS portal development meeting organised by the MoHFW, GOI, New Delhi at SIHFW, Lucknow on 23-24th May 2019. -participated in the Orientation /Training –cum-workshop of PRCs with Dr. Ajit Kumar, Analyst of the Centre, organised by the MoHFW, GOI, New Delhi at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi during 30-31st May 2019.

Other Activities of the Centre during 2018-19

-Participated in the workshop organised by IIPS, Mumbai during June 20-22, 2018 to develop papers based on the nutrition and child health data collected in Gujarat (CNSG), Maharashtra (CNSM) and NFHS. -Presented the PPT on Exploring link between female empowerment and child health: A brief presentation in the Workshop on Exploring Link between Female Empowerment and Child Health organized by School of Medicine, university of Nottingham, UK and A.N. Sinha Inst. of Social Sciences, Patna on March 18, 2019 at A.N. Sinha Inst. of Social Sciences, Patna.

Other Activities of the Centre during 2017-18

-Participated in the PRCs Review Committee meeting of the MoHFW, GOI, New Delhi in the Centre and Academic Council Hall, PU on 22nd June 2017. In the Academic Council Hall, the meeting was arranged with the officials of the University. -Invited as the Chief Guest by the NSSO, Regional Office, Muzaffarpur and he delivered a lecture on ‘Administrative Statistics’ on the occasion of birth anniversary of Prof. P. C. Mahalanobis on 29th June 2017. - Participated and delivered a lecture on the celebration of World Population Day in the Centre funded by IASP, New Delhi on 11th July 2017 which was attended by the various dignitaries and senior officials of the University in the Centre. -Participated and introduced the theme of ‘Population and Development in Bihar’ for the extramural lectures of Prof. B.K. Bhagat and Prof. Balram Paswan from IIPS, Mumbai, hosted on the occasion of Centenary Year of Patna University on 22nd August 2017 at the Auditorium of Geology Department, Patna Univ. which was attended by various dignitaries and students of the University. Prof. Rash Bihari Pd. Singh, Vice-Chancellor, PU was the Chair Person of the Extra Mural Lecture. -Participated in the seminar hosted by A.N. Sinha Inst. of Social Sciences, Patna for procurement of Census data on the workstation of Census Office in its campus on 6th Dec. 2017. -Participated in the dissemination seminar on the topic ‘Understanding the lives of adolescents and young adults (UDAYA)’ organized by the Population Council, India at Lemon tree Hotel, Patna on 22nd March 2018. -Participated in the dissemination seminar on the topic ‘Gender Disparity in IMR in Bihar’ organized by Asian Development Research Institute (ADRI) and The Centre for Health Policy (CHP) at ADRI, Patna on 23rd March 2018. -Participated in the AWP meeting of the PRCs hosted by the MoHFW, GoI, New Delhi and PRC, Delhi at IEG, Delhi University, Delhi during 27-28th March 2018.

Other Activities of the Centre during 2016-17

-Presented a paper entitled ‘The Impact of Family Planning in India’ in the International Conference of Social Statistics in India organised by ADRI (Silver Jubilee Celebrations) at Hotel Maurya during June 24-27, 2016. Dr. Dilip Kumar, Joint Director of the Centre taught Demography as the special paper to the students of M.Sc. (Statistics) in the Dept. of Statistics, Patna University, Patna in the session 2016-17. -Presented papers in the first dissemination workshop of research studies conducted by PRCs during 2015-16 held on 6th & 7th October 2016 at Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala Prof. R.N. Mishra, the then Hon. Director along with Dr. Dilip Kumar, Joint Director of the Centre attended the PRCs meeting on AWP for the financial year 2017-18 arranged by the MoHFW, GOI, New Delhi and PRC, Guwahati during 22-23 rd March 2017 in Guwahati.

Other Activities of the Centre during 2015-16

-Participated and presented a paper entitled ‘To Assess the Role of Family Planning on Fertility in Jharkhand State: Based on NFHS Data’ in the International Conference on Recent Advance in Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science (ICRAMSCS – 2015) at Central University of South Bihar, Patna during 29-31 May, 2015. -Attended Seminar on National Statistical Day Jointly organised by the Department of Statistics, Patna University and National Sample Survey Office (NSSO), GOI in the Auditorium of Geology Dept, Patna University on 29th June, 2015. -Delivered lecture for the CBHI in service orientation training programme on Health Information Management for non-medical personnel at RoHFW, GOI, Patna on 8th August 2015. Dr. K.N. Singh, Analyst of the Centre delivered lecture for the CBHI in service orientation training programme on Health Information Management for non-medical personnel at RoHFW, GOI, Patna on 9th August 2015. -Participated in the workshop on “Accelerating and synchronizing actions for Nourishing Bihar’s Children” hosted by UNICEF Patna and AIIMS Patna during 8th & 9th October, 2015 at Hotel Maura, Patna, Bihar. Dr. K.N. Singh, Analyst of the Centre deliver lecture for the CBHI in service orientation training programme on Health Information Management for non-medical personnel at RoHFW, GOI, Patna on 8th December 2015. -Deliver lecture for the CBHI in service orientation training programme on Health Information Management for non-medical personnel at RoHFW, GOI, Patna on 9th December 2015. Prof. Anchala Kumari, Hon. Director along with Dr. Dilip Kumar, Joint Director of the Centre participated in the Annual Action Plan (AAP) meeting of the MoHFW, GOI, New Delhi organised by the PRC, Thiruvananthapuram at IMA Hall, Cochin during 28th - 29th March, 2016.

-Delivered lecture in the CBHI in-service orientation training programme on Health Information Management for non-medical personnel at RoHFW, GOI, Patna during 8th-12th Sept. 2014. Dr. K. N. Singh, Analyst of the Centre had delivered lecture in the CBHI in-service orientation training programme on Health Information Management for non-medical personnel at RoHFW, GOI, Patna during 8th-12 Sept. 2014. -Participated in the PRCs meeting for Annual Action Plan, 2015-16 organised the Population Research Centre, Bengaluru during 16th-17th March 2014.

Other Activities of the Centre during 2013-14

Dr. Dilip Kumar, Joint Director, Dr. R.R. Sinha, Research Officer, Sri U.K. Sahay, Sri. S.K. Pandey, Sri Dhanesh Kumar, Dr. K.N. Singh all Analyst of the Centre attended the meeting of the Indian Statistics day on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Prof. P.C. Mahalanobis organised by the NSSO in Collaboration with the Department of Statistics, Patna University, Patna on 29th June 2013 in the office of the NSSO in Patna. -Attended the meeting with the officials of the State Health Society for the study of PIP under NRHM in June 2013. Dr. Dilip Kumar, Joint Director of the Centre delivered a lecture on the occasion of the seminar on World Population Day on 11th July 2013 in the Centre. The Seminar was attended by the several dignitaries of the University. -Attended the meeting on the Evaluation of PIP under NRHM and other research issues organised by the MoHFW, GOI and NHSRC in the New Delhi during 11-13th August, 2013. -Delivered lectures on Vital Statistics and HMIS in an Orientation Training Programme on Health Management among non-medical personnel at RoHFW (GOI) during 23-27th September 2013. Dr. K.N. Singh, Analyst of the Centre delivered lecture on Statistics Measure on Central Tendency etc. in an Orientation Training Programme on Health Management among non-medical personnel at RoHFW GOI, Patna during 23-27th September 2013. Dr. Dilip Kumar, Joint Director, Sri S.K. Pandey and Dr. K. N. Singh both Analyst of the Centre attended the Training of Trainers (TOT) for the Dhanlakshmi Scheme study hosted by the IIPS, Mumbai at Khandala during 6-9th October 2013. Dr. Dilip Kumar, Joint Director of the Centre participated in the seminar organised by the Population Council, New Delhi on Unmet Need for family Planning and Safe Abortion in Bihar, Odisha and Madhya Pradesh Status and Challenges in Addressing them” at Hotel Patliputra Ashok, Patna on March 21st 2014. -Participated in the Annual Action Plan (AAP) 2014-15 for the PRCs organised by the MoHFW, GOI, New Delhi in PRC, Thiruvananthapuram during 27-28th March, 2014.
